Easy Freestyle Weekly Workshops
at FORZA Fitness and Performance Club
Brian Vande Krol will guide you to improvement and mastery of the Freestyle stroke in this series of group lessons. Each session develops a Total Immersion drill, and the associated focal points. Weekly classes give you the opportunity to practice each skill before progressing to the next. Class size will be a minimum of 2, and a maximum of 6. Allow 90 minutes for each lesson, depending on class size.

Lesson 1 – Video Analysis and Streamline Position






In this minute lesson, your swimming will be videotaped, your technique will be analyzed, and you will gain a thorough understanding of how to improve. Next, we will learn the streamline position (skate drill) that is essential to efficient swimming.
Lesson 2 – Timing, Weight Shifts, and Propulsion





In this lesson, we progress from passive streamlining to active streamlining, using well timed weight shifts to reduce drag and increase propulsion.
Lesson 3 – Directing Energy with Hip Drive and Arm Recovery


Learn how a relaxed arm recovery effortlessly transmits more power to your stroke, and how hip drive and kick can propel you farther and faster with each stroke you take.
Lesson 4 – Breathe Effortlessly









Learn to make breathing easy and efficient. Breathing should happen during the stroke, but not as a result of the stroke! Use the support of the water and body rotation to get all the air you need!
Lesson 5 – Putting It All Together and Video Analysis




See how the drills work together to help you swim better You will be videotaped again, and gain more insight into how you can continue to improve as a swimmer.
